TAAKA Maritime Higher Institute (TAMAHI) offers professional education and training in various Schools, i.e., School of Maritime Studies, School of Maritime Business and Management, School of Computer Science, School of Air Transport, School of Petroleum and Mining Engineering, and School of Biomedical Sciences. Our competitive advantage is that in some programs that require work experience prior to admission, we offer entry-level courses to usher in those with no initial background in their desired area of studies. This creates a huge opportunity to those with the appropriate general education background to switch their career paths. We offer expert counselling and orientation services to our prospective trainees.
TAMAHI offers rolling admission all-year round for vocational programs. Applications can therefore be submitted at any time of the year. All applications go through a rigorous screening process. Successful applicants are placed in the next course or class as appropriate. Alternatively, we may advise prospective students on the appropriate pre-requisite course(s) to take prior to starting their main program.
TAMAHI trainees have the privilege of benefitting from very enriching fieldtrips in our partner companies and institutions in Africa, Asia, Europe, North/South America, and Canada; so those admitted will be required to establish the necessary travelling documents as soon as possible.
The current language of instruction at TAMAHI is English, given that the maritime industry is internationalized, with people from many countries and cultural backgrounds working together, and English is the most-spoken language in the world. Special English language classes for non-English-speaking students are arranged by the school for 3 months before the beginning of their standard programs.
We also organize and run tailored training courses to meet specific needs of companies in the maritime and logistics industries.
We appreciate the fact that you have expressed interest in TAMAHI. You can be assured that by joining us, you would be making one of the best career decisions in your life.
Note: We verify all certificates independently with the issuing institutions. When submitting your documents, please present originals of all your certificates. Curricula and syllabuses will be emailed to students who complete full registration.
Our admission requirements for short courses, BSc, and PGD programs vary from professional certificates, GCE Ordinary and Advanced Levels, to BA or BSc degrees (or their equivalents). All applications are examined on a case-by-case basis and our team of experts advises and orients prospective students to any of our programs based on their previous knowledge, qualifications and career desires.
